has any of you guys had any progress with the above issue?? i Swapped my PC5401 for a IT100 and still the same deal however if you use Hyper Terminal now the security system will report back the time and day every 2 minutes or so. Again if you go in the keypad by the door the and disarm the security system HAL will announce that security is been disarmed. I am going to call one of my security system installers to come have a look at it but they charge $95 per hour (this guy says all he does is DSC integration with home automation systems) and will try to contact Bill of AL here in Dallas and will keep you posted because security integration is very important to me. Please let me know if you have any additional information to share
thank you Denis |

Denis,
We are working with Mike Hull to resolve the similar issue with his system. He has a special debug version of our program now that will hopefully help us narrow in on the issue. As soon as we have a resolution I will let you know. -Mike |

Denis,
We got to the bottom of mikewhull's problem and it was related to more changes that DSC made in the communications protocol for the IT-100. What version of HAL are you running? If you are on a fairly recent build I can send you the same test version of the HAL Server to see if it resolves your issues. -Mike |

Mine is working great now. Only one thing i see that is not a big deal. and that is the satus does not change on the automation setup screen if i arm or disarm. but it does show it in HomeNet. so i would guess that the flag is being set in HAL. i have not used it in a rule yet. But i can arm, disarm and get feedback on doors and sensors now.
THANKS MIKE. it was a nice christmas present. Mike

You add them all as sensors, give them a name (Back Door)--one at a time;
In manufacturer, you select DSC Input Sensors....on the Sensor Input, put the number associated with the sensor; (1=Back Door, 2=Bedroom Window). You match up the Sensor inputs to the numbers that would display on your security keypad. When they are 'ON' they are closed, 'OFF' when they are open.... Hope that hellps- |

just to clairfy. people do differnt things. each on is a zone. so if you have all the windows hooked up to zone 3. then you can not tell what window opened. only that one did in zone 3. if you want one for one then you have to add to the panel so everything is its own zone. i for one. have every door in my barn on zone 6. i dont care what one opens. just so the alarm goes off. but i can not tell if its the back door or the front door for a rule. i do however have the front and back door of the house on its own. and for the dsc5010 (power 832) you can add up to 32 zones with a card. the card is only like 25-30 bucks so not bad. and it hookes up pretty easily.
mike still would like to see hal send me a email if my alarm goes off as to what zone is in alarm.

So, each ON is a zone?
I just have about 12 sensors/connectors. I assume each is its own zone. So, when the back door opens (input 1), I can have HAL respond, "The back door is now open" and then act on that; turn on kitchen lights, email me, etc. I like this because even though I have the alarm set to chime, I now know which sensor was triggered. |
