Available later this summer, the HAL Energy Management Console
(HALemc) is the latest add-on application to the HAL suite
of software. Customers can see real-time electrical usage, project
monthly electric bills, and manage usage. HALemc performs micro-power
shedding of lights, appliances, HVAC and more. It does this by
analyzing power usage trends to make intelligent decisions on
what should be on, off or adjusted. HALemc is a Green Solution
that can $AVE money!
Unlike other automation companies with an interface to power
monitoring devices, HALemc exposes various power usage events
in HAL for use in custom automation rules. In addition to the
value of actually seeing the real time data and adjusting your
usage habits, HALemc allows you to graph various aspects of your
usage as it relates to various events occurring in the home. The
real value of HALemc is in letting it manage power usage when
the house is put into a Green Mode. Based on information from
HALemc, HAL can then perform micro-power-shedding by adjusting
scheduled lighting, HVAC and other power usage to allow you dramatically
lower your power consumption.
This is based on a number of factors such as occupancy or how
aggressive you want the system to be when it comes to managing
the devices. So the ability to merge the data captured by usage
of power with the ability to make intelligent decisions on what
should be on or off is the real power of HALemc. Click on a thumbnail

interface.
